At the beginning of May 2011, war on drugs left more than 40 thousand dead people in the country but there is not a precise account. On april, there were found burried various dozens of corpses in clandestine graves. The militarization of the country has left also an increasing number of human rights violations.
The murder of poet and journalist Javier Sicilia´s son, Juan Francisco Sicilia in late march, made more mexican people from all states join to public movilizations against the violence and war. Even that, government insists that the security strategy is in the right way and giving positive results.
